My final-year university project explored immersive audio as a central compositional tool. I created a portfolio of electronic work using Dolby Atmos, L-Acoustic’s L-ISA and Max for Live, focusing on how spatial mixing can be the forefront of a piece. The project is in 7.1.4, with extracts here downmixed to binaural (so the full effect will not be shown).
Each piece is a separate yet relevant exploration of spatial audio, aiming to forget the norms expected by stereo (sound only coming from one space) and create sound in a 3D world. They create and develop several immersive audio techniques, presented via experimental electronic and popular music.
For the 7.1.4 files, send me an email!
